6th Grade Study Skills - A Note for Parents!

6th Graders, great job as we come to the end of our Study Skills Unit! Parents, your child has a workbook that we've used in conjunction with class discussion, activities, and video. The workbook contains some very helpful tips to apply in the areas of time management, avoiding distractions, goal-setting, motivation, and test-taking. Students are encouraged to keep this workbook in their binders to refer to throughout this and future years. Please take a few minutes to review the materials with them as much of it requires a partnership between students, parents, and school staff to ensure success!

NIEMAN'S HOMEWORK BLOG UPDATE...

Parents and students,

In an effort to clarify communication, I wanted to make these few announcements about the CTC Homework Board:

  1. I will update this board each Thursday. Assignments and information will be posted for the following week each Thursday.
  2. The Homework board is a reinforcement and reiteration of what is announced in class. Students should always write their assignments down in their student planner or equivalent .
  3. When changes are made, I will always favor the students by moving assignments to a later - not a sooner - due date.
  4. When due dates are posted, that is the day that the assignment is to be handed in to me at the beginning of class.
I welcome your questions about the above.

Thank you!
Mr. Nieman
