Mrs. Rees- Last post of school year

Can you believe how fast 09-10 has gone? What a great year so far!

Some students have asked about extra credit. There is a poster in class listing all opportunities.
Criteria: Turned in by Wednesday, June 16th and COMPLETE. There is no "partial" extra credit,
only an atta-boy for incomplete or late work.


Algebra: Final Exam (150 points) is June 15th. Review packet is due June 15th. YOU ARE SO CLOSE!

8th Science: We began the Cumulative Essay (150 points) on Friday. We will work in class Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday in class and at home. The typed essay is due Thursday morning. Please see handout given Monday for specifics.

Pre-Algebra: Final Exam (150 points) is June 15th. Review packet is due June 15th. An "Interview with Dr. Qepse" is due June 17th.

6th Science: We began Ecosystems today. Our chapter project includes an essay, poster, and video. The typed essay is 50 points and the poster is 50 points.

NIEMAN - Final post for the school year...

This will be my final HW blog post for the school year. As I stated earlier, it will mainly be a repeat of what I posted the other day.

MS BIBLE

6th - Our final activity is a poster collage portraying our identity in Christ.

The proposed Gallery Walk is CANCELLED due to a conflict here on campus. The assignment will still remain for the students to do during our last few days of class.

7th - Continuing & concluding the book of Revelation. Student will sell coffee before school on Mon 21 June as a final Growing Liberia's Children fund raiser.

8th - LOTS going on...please review the end-of-the-year agenda given to students a few weeks ago.

7TH LIFE SCIENCE

Work has begun on the Organ Systems student teaching. A packet of guidelines was given to students and we're taking class time to work on this assignment.

Student Teaching begins this week; two students per day. This is the final, significant assignment for the year...students are doing very well so far...keep up the good work!


8TH US HISTORY

We're examining the US Civil War and will continue this subject until the end of the year.

NIEMAN - WEEK OF 7 JUNE

Parents and students...I apologize for not having this blog updated sooner. My policy is to update it each Thursday; and I did not do so last week - and to compound matters - CTCS lost its internet for the better part of two days.

Below I'll just briefly give the highlights and most urgent and timely info for the remainder of this week. I'll post one final time this year on Thursday 10 June.

MS BIBLE

6th - Students took an abbreviated quiz on Acts Monday 7 June. Next and final activity is a poster collage identifying our identity in Christ.

Mrs. Decker's Last Post for 2009-2010!

This Friday, 6/11, the sixth graders will present the Chapel lesson.
Everyone is invited!

The last book essay of the year is due Thursday, 6/10.
I'll give out the project on Monday, 6/7.


It's been a great year! See most of you next year.
Eighth graders, you'll be greatly missed! Come back and visit often :)

I'm listing all of the things we're trying to finish/accomplish in these last two weeks. Our schedule changes a lot during this time of year, so approximate due dates are given where needed. Students should use their planner daily to record "up to the minute" accurate assignments.

6th Grade English/Social Studies/Math
Mythology: Atalanta, Persephone, Bellerophon, and Echo worksheets. Your original myth.
Grammar: 337-340. We're done!
Lit Circles: meetings are Tuesdays and Fridays
Social Studies: Chapter 11 test- open book- Tuesday, 6/8. We will read Chapter 12 in class, no test.
Math: We will finish Chapter 10 on Friday, 6/18. Daily lessons plus time for extra credit!

7th Grade English and Social Studies
Our Town: We will finish our reading of the play and watch a great production of it starring Paul Newman and Jane Curtain.
Grammar: 339-342. We're done!
Film as Literature: We will be watching a movie to identify many of the literary elements we have studied this year!
Social Studies: We will be reading Chapter 11: The Age of Enlightenment. No test.

8th Grade English:
Lit. Circles: We'll finish those up by 6/14.
